COVID-19 Update from The Kings Theatre
In light of the continuing uncertainty around the possible opening of Theatres and other arts venues, the Management Committee of The Kings Theatre have reluctantly taken the decision to stay closed for the remainder of 2020.
We appreciate that this will be a disappointment for patrons who were looking forward to our upcoming programme of shows. However, we have some major challenges around our ability to safely allow patrons back into the theatre, mainly with regards to social distancing rules in our toilet and foyer areas.
If you would like to get in touch with any of our presenting companies, we are happy to provide contact details, if you do not have them. Please fill in our Contact Form and we will be happy to assist.
A number of our hirers have rescheduled shows that were due in 2020, and below are details of our currently confirmed shows for 2021 :-
Saturday 6th February – STRONG ENOUGH – The Ultimate Tribute Concert to Cher – Tickets are on sale here
Saturday 13th March – ABBA SENSATION – Tickets are on sale here
Wednesday 24th – Saturday 27th March – Daughters of Eve – Tickets will be on sale soon
Saturday 17th April – Elvis – The Early Years to The Concert Years – This has been rescheduled from April 4th 2020, and all existing tickets are valid for the new date. Please contact Martyn Payne on 07910 959097 if you have any queries regarding this event.
All upcoming shows can be found on our What’s On Calendar here
Like other theatres across the country, we are experiencing unprecedented financial pressures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, so we have joined up with a number of other venues to take part in a national Crowdfunding initiative launched by Theatres Trust to prevent the permanent closure of hundreds of UK theatres.
There are a number of ways to help us, from a simple donation, to the purchase of a reward. Further details can be found at the above link.
We would appreciate any help you may be able to give us by donating (if you are able to), or supporting us through our 100 Club.
If you would like further details on how to make a donation or to become a member of the 100 Club, please fill in our Contact Form, and we will be more than happy to assist.
If all goes well, we hope to resume operations in January 2021 starting with the Hardwicke Players pantomime – Hansel and Gretel.
Please accept our best wishes for the coming months, and please stay safe.
